As most of you already know I joined the working population recently and one of the nice things about this was that I got to go shopping for a whole new work wardrobe, although some of the clothes above I did previously own because unfortunately I'm not raking in the money yet. So I thought that it might be interesting to do a post on my normal weekly work attire and I thought it would be useful to show you how you only need a few key pieces which you can then pair in various different ways.

Hence, in my working wardrobe I have 2 pairs of shoes, 2 skirts, 3 shirts, 2 pairs of trousers, 1 blazer and 1 jumper and all of which I can pair together and layer to create a different look each day of the week. I am especially fond of the tartan look at the moment!

Do any of you have a work wardrobe or are having to invest in one shortly?

Well it's Monday again, what happened to the weekend that's what I want to know, one minute its Friday and the next I'm getting back up for work! Although work today was actually pretty cool I was getting in contact with some people from Hearst Magazine, which for those of you who don't know they own Company magazine which is one of my all time favourite magazines to read. Even though I was only asking for pictures of awards that our products had won I still thought it was quite exciting.

But I guess even though the weekend does fly by one of the perks of being a blogger is that we always have our trusty camera and so we have our pictures to remind us what we have done and what we wore. So here is my lazy Sunday outfit, I guess you could say I am channeling a mix of cowboy meets rock-star. Hopefully I pulled it off in a way that works, but I will let you guys be the judges. The top I am 'rocking' is actually long enough to wear as a dress, which is one of the things I love about it, it is so multi-purpose.

I hope you all had a great weekend even if it was gone in a flash.

Polka Dot

Hey guys...

So I have completed my first proper working week and I have to say I am exhausted, my Friday night mainly consisted of me falling asleep on the tube and then getting into bed by 10pm (which in my books is damn early to be in bed on a Friday night)! I guess it is just going to take some time for my body to get used to the early morning starts.

Today I decided I was going to have a chill day and just do a bit of blogging and I'm hoping to do a bit of baking later with some new cool cooking gear my Mum & Dad bought as a flat warming prezzy, if it's successful I could even put it on my blog. So anyway, enough of my gibber gabber and on with the post.

I have actually worn these polka dot trousers quite a lot to work, as they are smart but I can still look unique rather than too business like, like everyone else (I'm not one to try and blend in :) ) but today I decided I would give them a more casual feel and so I paired them with my new black crop top and my flat-form boots.

Do any of you love wearing polka dots to stand out?

Pocahontus

Just a quick post today as I have started my new job and so things are a little hectic, especially getting used to going to work at 9am (no more student lie ins!). But as most of you know I went to Italy a few weeks back and so I wanted to show you one of the outfits I wore when we went for a lovely family meal.

My dress is from All Saints, it's one of the more luxurious dresses I own and it's one of my favourites. It feels so soft and silky on your skin and the way it falls is just so flattering. I wanted to keep the look simple so I then paired it with my golden sandals and just some simple silver jewellery and hence the end result is something that I feel resembles my childhood idol...Pocahontas.

Do any of you have that one luxurious dress that you treasure over your others?

Bloggers_love event with Nicola Crawford & Angel Armogida

So Thursday night I headed off to my first blogger event. I was kindly invited by Bloggers Love to their event at The Penthouse Leicester Square where Nicola Crawford and Angel Armogida were showcasing their new designs. It was a great night, with great tunes, drinks, manicures, cupcakes and some lovely company by lots of fellow bloggers.

As I had such a great night I thought I would show you all a few snaps that I took, sorry I don't have many but I was busy drinking and getting my nails done ;)

Above are some pictures of Nicola Crawford's jewellery designs. Her collection was gorgeous and each piece told a different story, there were three main themes to her collection, including: secret garden, lost words and with love. It would be hard for me to choose a favourite piece as they were all so beautiful but I would have to say I like the secret garden collection as it contained key pendants and ivy rings.

You can check out her collection here:

Sorry about the cringey photos of me, I just really loved my new shirt from Zara and wanted to show you all, plus there was an awesome view from The Penthouse but unfortunately we didn't quite manage to catch it in the background.

Above is Angel Armogida's new collection, she is an extremely talented designer who actually never studied fashion but just one day decided to start making dresses (I think we can safely say she made the right decision). All her dresses and evening gowns are hand made so you are definitely getting value for money, some of them are even Swaroski embellished. My favourites from her collection are the two black dresses above, being such a fan of black these were right up my street. The black sequin dress was actually raffled off and the proceeds went to Cancer Research.

You can see more of the collection here:

Overall I had a fab night, met some great people and saw some lovely new designs.

Hey there sailor!

Now in my opinion you can never go wrong with a bit of stripe, this dress is one of my favourites as the material is relatively thick so it sucks me in slightly, which is always a bonus as horizontal stripes aren't the most forgiving. It even has some cool military style detailing on the shoulders, although silly me forgot to take a good picture of this, my apologies.

I paired this dress with my incredibly awesome cut out boots, which I am noticing are becoming an even bigger trend, they are everywhere (literally) and I have to say Topshop have some amazing new ones in. I think my overall finished look has an understated rock edge about it, which I love because I never like to look like a try hard (even if I have spent over an hour on it).

So what do y'all think?

Ohhh I also have a little bit of exciting news to tell you all, I am finally employed and by no other than L'Oreal as a Digital Executive!!! eeee it is still hard for me to contain my overwhelming sense of excitement, I start on Monday and so I have frantically been trying to pull together some form of a work wardrobe.

Any who I am off out to my first blogger event tonight, hopefully it should be fun but I'm still a bit nervous about not knowing anyone, so wish me luck :)
