Motel Rocks my Socks!

Hey everyone...

So recently I have been trailing around sites trying to find the perfect 21st Birthday dress for my party next weekend. I keep thinking it has to be something really amazing because I only turn 21 once right and you have to do it in style.

I wasn't impressed by many things until I came across Motel Rocks and their awesome new collection. I actually ended up wanting more than just a dress once I started looking, they have some amazing crop tops and playsuits that I am definitely going to be spending my birthday money on!

So I thought I would share with you all my finds because I thought they were all too good to keep to myself...

I think this is perfect for a night out with an arm cuff or you could pair it with a denim jacket and converse for the day.

Off-Shoulder Crop Top in Dip Dyed Navy

I absolutely love anything off the shoulder as they are always so flattering. I think this top would be perfect with some high waisted denim shorts.

Now I have seen this dress on a lot of blogs but it still doesn't stop me from loving it. The print is gorgeous, I have always had a slightly grungy style and I think this gothic print is perfect!

Anyway this is just a few of the many wonderful things you can find on motel and I have recently just joined the Motel Rocks street team so I will definitely be using my 20% code. You guys can also get 20% off just use...

Old Skool

Heyyy...

So yet another buy from Urban Outfitters, I know, I know, I promise I do shop in other places it's just they seem to have so many nice and unique pieces. This dress being one of them. So todays outfit was created around the idea of old school chic. The tartan shirt dress is actually a reworked vintage piece and the moment I saw it I knew it would end up being one of those timeless pieces in my wardrobe. I thought it is great for summer as it's long enough to be warn tight-less but then I thought it would also be perfect for winter with a big chunky knitted scarf and wool tights. I am always thinking forward towards how I can wear things in the cold because lets face it us Brits hardly ever see the sun!

I paired this dress with my new Topshop boots (that haven't left my feet as of yet), bowler hat and then clinched it in at the waist with a little black belt.

Circus Comes to Town!

Just a quick post today....

I wanted to show you all my circus inspired nails. Quite a simple design but I always think some of the more simpler ones are the most effective.

To create this design first use a white base coat and then layer on top various sized black triangles with a nail art pen. I used a models own nail art pen for this. And then a vola, it is literally that simple! Perfect if you need something quick but still funky for a night out.

What are some of your favourite nail art designs?

A Splash of Tartan!

 Hey everyone...

I had been lusting over these tartan trousers for as long as I can remember. I saw them a while a go on UO's site but they were too pricey for my liking, however, about three weeks a go I was browsing through their sale and I literally jumped for my debit card when I saw these were half price. Literally my fingers have never typed so fast to make sure I got the purchase. It actually turned out they were out of stock within a day, so thank god I found them when I did or I would have been crying myself to sleep for a very long time.

Well anyway since they arrived in the post I haven't taken them off, although it did take me a while to find something perfect to pair them with because as you can see they have quite a vibrant pattern so you need to pair it with something that isn't too over powering. So when I saw this jumper in warehouse with 20% off I knew it was the perfect match. Just plain enough to go with the trousers but not too boring due to the studded shoulders.

I tried to be a bit more artistic with my photos today as I get a bit bored of standing in the same old posh in the same old place. So let me know what you guys think?

Trousers - UO
Jumper - Warehouse
Necklace - UO
Hat - still stolen off my Dad
Boots - Topshop

My Dad was actually amazed to see me wearing a pair of these because apparently back when he was hitting the clubs etc he would go around in a pair exactly the same but in red and with braces. Looks like a lot of fashion pieces never old!

Galaxy Print

Hey everyone...

So I have been saving for this dress for a while now. Ever since I saw it on UO I knew that I couldn't live without it in my wardrobe. This is actually the first piece of galaxy print I own. I know shocker, especially considering galaxy print has been a big hit for so long now.

I was a little apprehensive about the length because being tall all dresses at the moment seem to be a bit on the short side. But it turned out ok although I do think most of the time I will be wearing leggings, especially if I need to do any bending!

I decided to pair this dress with my Dad's (a.k.a now mine) bowler hat and distressed working boots. I am such a MASSIVE fan of bowler hats at the moment, if I could I would own one in every colour imaginable. Also my Mum found this really cute gold vintage necklace in one of our many junk boxes, she decided to save it from one of the many charity shops our things go to and as it turned out it came in very handy, I thought it worked perfectly with all the colours of the dress.

Dress - UO
Hat - Dads
Boots - River Island

I especially love the back of the dress, it kind of reminds me of ballerina dresses.

Necklace - Vintage

Middle ring - Topshop
Thumb ring - small shop in Italy

So what do you guys think to galaxy print?

A few Italy snaps

Hello again everyone...

So I finally got around to downloading some of my holiday snaps and I thought I would share one of my favourite outfits with you, as well as showing you the beautiful Umbrian landscape.
I took these pictures in the last part of sunshine before a massive 4 day storm broke out. I had actually spent the best part of the day reading '50 shades of Grey' ( I know sadly I have fallen for the Mr Grey trap) in the sun and forgot to put on any sun cream, so I apologise for the slight reddish tint that my skin has, it turns out that I actually burnt myself quite badly and later on that day I ended up looking more like a lobster than a tanned goddess. Let's just say a lot of after sun was needed!

This dress was a fairly old purchase from urban outfitters and I have to say it has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have worn in with tights, on nights out and as you can see on holiday. I paired it with a brown studded belt and some plain gold sandals. A lot of the time I believe that keeping it simple is always best.

I purchased this ring from an Italian market in the nearby town of Cortona, one of the things I love about Italy are the markets as they have some of the best and cheapest jewellery I have ever found. This was no exception at 15 euros for pure Indian silver.

What would be your holiday staple outfit?

Indiana Jones in the making...

So a couple of days a go I stumbled across my dads massive hat collection that I never even knew existed. There were so many different kinds including the Indiana Jones lookalike pictured below and a very funky looking bowler hat which I think I will also be borrowing for a while.

I based my look around the hat and came up with what I feel is a laid back country girl type of outfit. I paired my new urban outfitter shorts with this baggy knitted top that was a recent purchase from Italy, I then accessorized with my multi-layered cross necklace and hey presto you have a perfect slouchy weekend outfit.

What do you guys think...?

Hat - borrowed/stolen from Dad
Knitted top - from Italy
Black vest - Topshop
Shorts - UO
Boots - River Island
Necklace - River Island

So now I am suited and booted I feel ready to start my next quest and become the next Indiana Jones :)
